The Frozen World of Glaciers
Celeste Labedz,
Graduate Student,
Division of Geological and Planetary Sciences,
Caltech,
Ice may seem like a faraway topic in southern California, but there's a lot to learn no matter where you live! In this talk, Celeste Labedz gives a tour through the spectacular snowscapes of glaciers.
Learn how delicate snowflakes transform into icy bulldozers that carve landscapes, discover how the depths of solid ice are secretly full of motion, and consider how frozen water is one of the most important natural resources on the planet.
Celeste Labedz is a Caltech PhD candidate in Geophysics. Find her on Twitter @celestelabedz.
Tickets are FREE through the generosity of our donors. Reservations are needed. Please call (626) 395-6059 or email Mary Herrera.
