Hirosi Ooguri, Fred Kavli Chair in Theoretical Physics and Mathematics and the Founding Director of the Walter Burke Institute for Theoretical Physics, has been appointed as the new Director of the Kavli Institute for the Physics and Mathematics of the Universe (Kavli IPMU) at the University of Tokyo. Hirosi will retain his existing Caltech appointments and we look forward to the continued and strengthened collaborations between Caltech and IPMU under his leadership.
