Device-Independent Quantum Key Distribution with Parallel Inputs
Carl Miller, Cryptographic Technology Group, NIST,

Abstract: The field of device-independent quantum cryptography, which immunizes users against any errors in the quantum hardware, has seen enormous success in the last several years.  I will discuss current work that takes device-independent quantum key distribution to a new level, allowing parallel (rather than sequential) inputs.  In this setting, even information leakage between different components in the same lab will not affect the security of the protocol.  Our approach builds on techniques from parallel repetition of nonlocal games (a beautiful and decades-old topic).  This is joint work with Rahul Jain and Yaoyun Shi.
