Euler systems and local representation theory
Christopher Skinner,
Department of Mathematics,
Princeton University,
Euler systems remain one of the best tools for relating Selmer groups to L-values and especially for making progress on special value formulas, at least whenever a related Euler system exists. This talk will describe some recent work on Euler systems in the context of modular curves and other Shimura varieties, focusing on how the `norm relations' can be proved/interpreted in terms of related local Hecke algebras.
