Coulomb enhancements for fundamental physics
Ryan Plestid, University of Kentucky,

Intensity frontier experiments (e.g. Mu2e, DUNE, and LDMX) use nuclear targets (with charge Z=12, Z=18, and Z=74 respectively) and are often interested in "niche" regions of phase space optimized for their own signal to background ratios. Coulomb corrections can have outsized influence in these tailored regions of phase space. In this talk I will outline a field theory/diagrammatic formalism for Coulomb corrections that allows for connections between "wavefunction methods" (i.e. the external field approximation) and modern developments in effective field theory and radiative corrections. I will also sketch an application to a relevant phenomenological example for Mu2e.

Limited attendance in 269 Lauritsen.
