Nam is the PMA Director of Student Programs, and a resource for and liaison among students, faculty, and administration. Along with the Student Programs team, Nam works closely with the Division Chair, Executive Officers, and Graduate and Undergraduate Option Representatives to support the graduate and undergraduate programs within the division. In their role, Nam manages the student affairs functions within the division, including student support, advising, graduate admissions, student funding, student engagement and programming, and course schedule and support. They completed an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from CSU Long Beach, where they also currently teach a class in the graduate higher education counseling program. Prior to joining Caltech in 2019, Nam was the inaugural Director of the Office of Student Services and Enrollment Management for the UCLA School of Music. In their free time, Nam enjoys traveling with their partner, calligraphy/lettering, the art of drag, and eating and cooking yumtastic food.
Belen Maria Hernandez (she/her)

Belen comes to Caltech with experience as a Student Affairs Officer and Academic Advisor at UCLA. At UCLA, Belen provided student support services to a caseload of nearly 200 students and managed the annual scheduling of 300 classes. Most recently, Belen worked in program evaluation at CSULB, where she worked closely with undergraduate students with research interests in STEM-related fields. She completed her undergraduate studies at UCLA and earned her master's degree in Student Development in Higher Education at CSULB. In her free time, Belen enjoys spending time with family, traveling, crafting and singing.
Mika Walton (she/her/hers), PMA Graduate Affairs Coordinator

Mika has been working at Caltech for many years, her current position as Graduate Affairs Coordinator being her third job at Caltech. In her role, she handles graduate student pay, reimbursements, student events and programming, administering quals, and maintaining the website, among other things. Mika is originally from the Seattle, Washington area and enjoys going back to visit as often as she can. She ended up in Southern California for her undergrad at UCLA where she studied Plant Biology. In her free time she loves to garden, play soccer, Euro-style board games, hiking, camping and spending time with her husband, two kids and two cats.
