Using the microscopic formulation for 1/4 BPS black holes in N = 4 4d string theory [Dijkgraaf-Verlinde-Verlinde], I will
1. Improve on the existing formulation of the corresponding quantum entropy function obtained using supersymmetric localization

1. Show how the degeneracy formula can be reinterpreted in semiclassical gravity involving 2D susy wormholes.

I will start with the basics of 4d N= 4 string compactifications and Siegel modular forms and assume little to no background on the literature.
