How Viable is Electroweak Baryogenesis?
Michael Ramsey-Musolf,
U Mass Amherst & Shanghai Jiao Tong University,
Electroweak baryogenesis (EWBG) is a theoretically well-motivated and experimentally testable baryogenesis scenario linked to the breaking of electroweak symmetry. A key ingredient is beyond Standard Model CP-violation. Searches for permanent electric dipole moments (EDMs) of the electron, neutron, atoms and molecules provide the most powerful probe of this CP-violation. In this talk, I discuss new developments in quantum transport theory used to compute the baryon asymmetry in EWBG and the implications for viability of this scenario in light of increasingly stringent EDM constraints.
The talk is in 469 Lauritsen.
