High Energy Theory Seminar
In the wide family of asymptotic symmetries, asymptotic higher-spin symmetries seem to furnish an organizational principle to describe the IR behavior of gauge theory and gravity. In this blackboard presentation, I will introduce what these symmetries are and how they were originally related to soft theorems. The main point is to present the non-perturbative treatment recently found by Laurent Freidel and I, where we showed that there exists a non-linear Noether realization of a symmetry algebroid on the asymptotic phase space. I shall focus on non-abelian gauge theory for pedagogical purposes and mention the main theorems of the gravity story if time permits. Based on 2501.08856, see also 2409.12178 and 2410.15219 for GR.
The talk is in 469 Lauritsen.
