In a talk called "John Archibald Wheeler: Just Crazy Enough to be Right," Kip Thorne, a former student of the recently deceased physicist John Wheeler, will give a retrospective on Wheeler's life and discuss his contributions to national security and to nuclear physics, astrophysics, relativity, quantum gravity, and quantum cosmology, as well as his role as a mentor and inspiration to generations of physicists.
