Haim Suchowski,
graduate student in physics,
Weizmann Institute of Science,
Speaker's Bio:
Haim Suchowski is a Ph.D student at the "Ultrashort physics and Nonlinear optics" group (Silberberg's group) at the Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel. He holds a B.A. in Physics (2004) and a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering (2004) from Tel Aviv University, and a M.A in Physics (2006) from the Weizmann Institute of Science. His research deals with quantum coherent control of atoms and molecules with ultra-short laser pulses, and analogous schemed in nonlinear optics. The research combines theoretical and experimental approaches from the fields of physics, mathematics and engineering. He has published 10 articles, and 2 patents. He also received the Azrieli foundation PhD fellowship for outstanding PhD students for the years 2007 - 2010.
