Dynamics of mobile impurities in 1D condensates

I'll discuss recent experiments where one or few distinguishable atoms are selectively accelerated through the 1D Bose (quasi)condensates. Theoretical understanding of this setup brings interesting perspective, including Bloch oscillations without periodic potential and metastable states.
