Speaker's Bio:
Aashish Clerk is Associate Professor of Physics at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. He received his Ph.D. in 2001 from Cornell in theoretical condensed matter physics with Vinay Ambegaokar. From there, he went on to be a Keck foundation postdoc at Yale University from 2001 - 2004, working with Steve Girvin and Douglas Stone. In 2004 he became Assistant professor in the department of physics at McGill University, and associate professor from 2009 onwards. He has received numerous awards including the Alfred P. Sloan fellowship in 2007, and is a fellow of the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research for the Nanoelectronics Program.
