Stefan Maier, professor of nanophotonics, Imperial College of London,
Speaker's Bio:
Stefan Maier holds a Chair in Nanophotonics in the Physics Department at Imperial College London, and is co-director of the College's Centre for Plasmonics and Metamaterials. A graduate from the Atwater group at Caltech (PhD 2003), his group is working on both fundamental and applied aspects of nanoplasmonics and metamaterials research spanning from the optical to the THz regime. He was recently awarded the Sackler Prize in the Physical Sciences and the IOP Paterson Medal for his contribution to the field.
