Transit of Venus!

Did you enjoy the solar eclipse? Come see another rare event--the passage of Venus across the face of the Sun, which won't occur again until 2117!

On June 5, the Caltech Astronomy outreach team will host a viewing of the transit of Venus at the Cahill Center from 3pm to 7:30pm. We'll have telescopes with solar filters and projections available for viewing the transit as well as sun-shielding glasses for those who want to check it out on their own!

We will also have volunteers available for answering questions about the transit, and some of our Astronomy professors will be giving lectures on the science and significance of the event.

RSVPs are not required for this event but are strongly recommended for those who would like to have a peek through the telescopes; check our twitter feed at twitter.com/CaltechAstro to information on when and how to RSVP. This is an extremely rare event, so don't miss out!
