Monotonicity of relative entropies and convexity of some trace functions

We show that certain recent definitions of relative Renyi entropies are monotone under completely positive, trace preserving maps. This proves part of a conjecture of Audenaert and Datta and completes earlier results by Hiai.
The talk is based on joint work with Eric Carlen and Elliott Lieb.
