Introduction to the Ricci and Kahler-Ricci Flows
Zhou Zhang,
School of Mathematics and Statistics,
University of Sydney,
In this expository talk for general audience, we begin with some basic facts regarding the Ricci flow and its complex version, the Kahler-Ricci flow. Then we consider several natural questions which people might ask when coming across these objects for the first time. Indeed, after the introducing of the Ricci flow by R. Hamilton more than thirty years ago and intensive work by many mathematicians since, we are still trying to answer them, of course, with quite some success already.
