The Euler-Maxwell system in 2D

We prove small data global existence for the irrotational Euler-Maxwell system in 2D. To overcome the obstacle of non-integrable decay, we will use a combination of an improved energy estimate, an (almost) semilinear L^2 estimate, and a semilinear localization estimate. Joint work with A. Ionescu and B. Pausader.
