Improving Searches for Compact Binary Coalescences in Advanced LIGO
TJ Massinger, Physics, Syracuse University,

The Advanced LIGO detectors have recently finished collecting data for the
first observing run. Throughout this observing run, the detector
characterization group has been working to understand the output of the
detectors and the impacts of noise artifacts on transient searches for
gravitational waves. Studying these noise artifacts allows for the
identification of limiting noise sources and the development of data quality products.

This talk discusses the implementation of these data quality products,

which are shown to improve the sensitivity of searches for compact binary coalescences.

We plan to broadcast these talks using TeamSpeak. Use a sub-channel of
LIGO Lab called "LIGO Seminar", which is not password protected.
