Origin of magic angles in Twisted Bilayer Graphene

Graphene is a special two-dimensional material which may provide a condensed-matter analog of 2+1 dimensional electrodynamics. Two layers of graphene placed on top of each other with a small twist angle give an analog of 2+1 non-abelian theory. Spectrum of the Dirac operator in this background non-abelian gauge field reveals a remarkable phenomenon of acquiring infinite number of zero-modes at special values of coupling charge - "magic" angles.
In this talk I'll try to explain the mechanism of this phenomenon and argue that there should be some deep mathematical structure behind it.
