Thanos Siapas: Neuronal Mechanisms of Memory Formation
Series: Earnest C. Watson Lecture Series
Presented By: | Caltech Committee on Institute Programs |
The hippocampus is a brain area that is critical for making new memories. This lecture will describe how neuronal activity in this area is organized during behavior, both while awake and during sleep, and discuss how these activity patterns may support learning and memory formation.
Athanassios (Thanos) Siapas is Associate Professor of Computation and Neural Systems, and a Bren Scholar in the Department of Biology at Caltech.
