Abstract: On abelian p-adic Stark conjectures over real quadratic fields

We will survey the statements of several p-adic Stark-style conjectures for ray class characters of real quadratic fields.  We will describe what (little) is known about these conjectures.  We hope to touch upon some joint work in progress with Darmon and Rotger on partial theoretical evidence for the conjectures using p-adic deformations of Beilinson-Flach elements in the higher Chow groups of products of modular curves.
